2014 Rangers:  We are so glad you are joining us this year for Urban Rangers!  If you were a Ranger last summer, welcome back!  And if you are a first year Ranger, welcome and thank you for joining us!

Before we all meet for our week adventure in the Lincoln School Courtyard, you have a challenge to complete.  Please read this carefully and be prepared for our first meeting!

Challenge #1: Part 1: Copy this url into your browser:  http://urban-rangers.blogspot.com/   and find our Urban Rangers blog.  We will use this blog to communicate with Ranger parents throughout the week so they can share in our experiences and learning.  You may also choose to comment and post here during the week, or throughout the summer.  We'll talk about all of this when we meet.  Your first challenge is to find the blog and click on the "2014 Ranger Report" tab.  That will bring you...

Challenge #1: Part 2:  Last summer, we asked our Rangers to come to our first meeting with the definition of "urban" and "ranger".  Throughout both sessions of Urban Rangers 2013, our groups began to give meaning to what the definition of an "Urban Ranger" might be.  This year, one of our goals for this program is to really identify what it means to be an Urban Ranger, and we think the best way to do this is together.  We will keep this in mind as we move through our week together, but for now, you need to do some preparation!  Before the Monday of your Urban Rangers week:

New Rangers: Think about why you wanted to join Urban Rangers.  Or, answer the questions: What are you expecting Urban Rangers to be like?  What will we do?


Returning Rangers:  Think about what you remember most from last summer's program.  What do you remember?  How did you feel about being an Urban Ranger?

All Rangers: Post a comment on the Ranger Report page so we know you checked in.  You will not see it right away because we have to monitor comments, but we will get it posted as soon as possible.  Check back anytime!

You may write your answers on a piece of paper and bring it to our first meeting, or just keep your answers in your mind.  Either way, be prepared to share your ideas with the group!
